Masoor Dal (Brown Lentil) is healthy dal made with whole masoor dal in North Indian Style. Meanwhile peel and slice onion, chop tomato, coriander leaves (cilantro) and green chilies.   1. In pan cook the rice till soft and drain the extra water
  2. In another pan take masoor dal, add two cups of water, salt and half of turmeric powder and cook till soft and mushy
  3. In a pan heat ghee, add the spices
  4. Now add chopped onion, tomato and chilli one by one
  5. Now add ginger garlic paste and saute and then add other dry masala one by one
  6. Now add drumsticks leaves and saute for few minutes
  7. Add cooked dal and cooked rice and mix well
  8. Add little water and cook on low flame for about five minutes.
  9. Masoor dal and drumstick leaves khichdi is ready.Serve hot with achar and papad
